From its beginnings in 1996 The Daily Grind’s main attraction is quality
coffee in its purest form. Our coffee beans are genuinely as high a quality bean as you can find anywhere in the world. We could spend allot less on our beans and equipment and rely on a good sales pitch and fancy atmosphere but that’s not what we do. At BG/DG we brew the best cup of coffee available in the world and we stand by that.
Our daily brewing of light roasted coffee is evidence of this quality. Light roasted coffee is the most telling roast in regards to quality. That’s why most coffee shops don’t offer it. At this level every characteristic of the bean is revealed, good and bad. To make a good light roast you must have a perfect bean, which we do.
An espresso shot, when brewed properly uses 8 grams fine ground Vienesse roasted coffee beans pressure brewed at 203° for a 22-28 second brewing cycle. If it's brewed too hot or for too long the impurities in the beans become extracted and make it bitter. Brewed too cold or too short and it's weak. Not allot of room for error. That's why our espresso beans, like all the beans we offer, are the absolute pick of the pick and almost completely void of impurities. As such our espresso is smooth and stout with no bitterness at all.
